# Lore

> Lore is an AI roleplay platform for discovering, creating, importing, and chatting with AI characters in stories that use persistent memory.

Lore is available on iOS and Android. Web chat is coming soon. Its features include:

- Detailed personas with pronouns and descriptions that help characters understand who they are speaking with.
- Uninterrupted, advertisement-free chats that preserve immersion.
- Suggested and public personas, allowing creators to recommend personas that fit their characters.
- Suggested AI models, allowing creators to recommend the model that provides the best experience for each character.
- Generous character limits, including an advanced definition field that supports up to 70,000 characters.
- A response length selector for choosing how long AI replies should be.
- An NSFW toggle that lets users enable or disable NSFW content for their experience.
- Character.AI imports for bringing existing characters into Lore instead of starting over.
- A creator website for creating, editing, importing, publishing, and exploring characters.
- Chat customization with custom backgrounds and message formatting.
- The ability to refresh chats and restart a conversation or explore a different direction.
- Custom chat titles that make conversations easier to identify and organize.
- Banned-word controls that prevent the AI from overusing selected words or phrases.
- Pinned messages that keep important information relevant during a conversation.
- Strong long-term memory that helps conversations retain context and remain consistent over time.

Public characters are user-created; private characters and chats are not displayed publicly.
